ART GALLERY

The biggest Art Museum in Ukraine houses unique works of painting sculpture,graphic and decorative-applied art of West East European countries from the Middle Ages to the present.. The total collection numbers over fifty trousand and includes works by Goya and Titian ,as well as large collection by the Polish painter Jan Maejko.

THE NATIONAL MUSEUM

One of the most significant museum boasts of a collection of over 130 trousand items, with at least 1500 on exhibit at any given time. Established in 1905 as a private foundation by the Metropolitan Andriy Sheptyts’kyi, the museum was inaugurated in 1913 and its collection was presented as a gift to the Ukrainian national. Splendid icons of XIV-XVIII c Ukrainian paintings from XIX-XX c, as well as a substantial collection of folk art are on display.

The museum possesses one of the richest in Ukraine collection of antique furniture of XV-XIX cen.Wonderfull pieces of porcelain and faience, tapestries, wall-paper and other pieces of art from the Renaissance period to the present on display.
